A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. Below is every cookie Konnect Dots sets, what each one does, and how long it lasts. There are no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers beyond the analytics named here.
| Cookie | Purpose | Lasts | Set when |
|---|---|---|---|
kd_consent |
Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so we stop asking on every page. | 6 months | You choose either option |
kd_vid |
A random identifier used to group your page views into one visit. It identifies a browser, not a person, and is not derived from anything about you. | 1 year | Only if you accept |
ci_session |
Keeps you signed in and protects forms. The site cannot work without it. | Until you close the browser | Always |
_ga, _ga_<id> |
Google Analytics. Measures visits and traffic sources. | Up to 2 years | Currently always — see below |
The consent banner controls kd_vid and our own analytics. It does
not currently control Google Analytics, which loads on every
page whatever you choose. That is not how it should work, and we are changing
it. Until then, the row above says so plainly rather than implying otherwise.
In the meantime you can block Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or your browser's tracking protection.
You can reopen the choice at any time. This clears both of our cookies and shows the banner again:
You can also delete cookies for this site in your browser settings, which has the same effect. Declining does not limit anything on the site — every page works the same either way.
The privacy policy covers what we do with data once collected, who it is shared with, and how to ask for it to be deleted.
